About Leadership
Col. Prof. Vel. The Chancellor of the Institution, Dr. R. Rangarajan has also cherished the memory behind his success. Through his sheer determination and hard work as an engineer at TNEB, he emerged as a corporate icon entrepreneur in the field of Industry and education. He appeared as a pioneer of educationists. He possesses academic qualifications in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering to the tune of an honors degree and a master’s in Automobile Engineering. Later, he served TNEB for a short period, then started manufacturing automotive and liners as original equipment manufacturing for Ashok Leyland.
After growing successful and wealthy from an industrial background, he felt the necessity of giving something back to rebuild India. He perceived that developing knowledge assets would enhance social and economic growth and national safety and security, so he ventured into the educational sector. He is ably supported by his wife, Dr. Mrs. Sagunthala Rangarajan. He established a school in Avadi, three engineering colleges, two paramedical institutions, and one arts and Sciences College within ten years. Since 1990, the group of educational Institutions has been established under their trusts in Avadi, Chennai.
